Skinner, Ruby, 79, of Great Village, NS passed away on March 4, 2015 at Colchester East Hants Health Center. She was born in Hermitage, Newfoundland. Ruby was the daughter of the late William and Bertha (Francis) Simms. Ruby lived in Great Village with her daughter Trudy for the past seven years. She loved to play Bingo and to have a game of cards. She was a member of the St. Saviours Anglican Church and LOBA in Hermitage; a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 72 Great Village and Ladies Fire Auxiliary in Great Village. Ruby is survived by her sons, Hughie, and Todd (Edna), both of Hermitage; Cliff, Grovedale, Alberta; Victor (Melissa) Grand Prairie, Alberta; daughters, Gloria (Edgar) Morris, Hermitage, Trudy (Glen) MacNeil, Great Village; grandchildren, Lindo Simms, Jonathon and Kayla Skinner, Richard and Andrew MacNeil, Shavana Simms, and Dylan Skinner; sisters Ethel Dealhoy, Huntsville, Ontario, Phyllis Rose, Whitby, Ontario, and Blanche Millar, Bedford, Nova Scotia; numerous nieces and nephews along with her best friend Betty MacNeil. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Skinner; brothers, Edgar, Max, Gerald, Ernest, Clifford, and Lindo; sisters, Eva and Greta. A celebration of Ruby’s life will be held at the Great Village Royal Canadian Legion Branch 72 in Great Village on March 8, 2015 from 2-4 with a Legion Tribute Service at 2 pm. Her funeral will be at St Saviours Anglican church in Hermitage, Newfoundland at a later date.
