Mrs. Maxine Beverley Glenn (nee Howell) of Moose Jaw passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 6, 2015 at the age of 88. Maxine will be sadly missed by her children: son Robby Glenn; daughters Norma Broughton, Kathy Glenn, Lori (Ken) Belyea, and Val Glenn(fiancé Ron Carpentier); seven grandchildren: Joshua, Jaeda (Chris), Jenesse-Carol (Derek); Rod and Jeremy; Glenn and Carol-Lynn; five great-grandchildren; sisters Lorraine Williams, Grace Davis; brother Forest Howell; sister in law Muriel Glenn, as well as many nieces and nephews. Maxine is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Kenneth Glenn; daughter Carol Glenn; great-granddaughter Janessa Broughton; sisters Carrie Simpson and Darlene Brandon; brother George Howell. Maxine graduated from the Grey Nuns Hospital School of Nursing in 1948, and was a practicing RN until her marriage to Ken in 1951. She was a life-long learner, and continued to apply her nursing expertise, while raising her 6 children and caring for her husband in his later years. Maxine was an active member of the Jubilee Unit of Zion United Church UCW up until the time of her death. She was also an active member of the PC Ladies association of Moose Jaw for several years. Maxine enjoyed music, cooking, reading, sewing, knitting, following sports, visiting family and travelling the world. She was a loyal sports fan, no matter what the sport. She enjoyed cheering for the “local team”, whether the athletes were from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan or Canada. She and Ken travelled by motor home visiting each of the kids and spent several winters in California. Over the years, they travelled to Israel, Russia, Australia, Alaska, Europe, Turkey and the Greek Islands. Maxine dedicated her life to the well-being of her family. When a need was identified, she rose to the occasion. She normally met the need herself, and when necessary she organized a team to assist. We know that the world is a better place because of Mom. A Memorial Service will be held at Zion United Church on Wednesday March 11, 2015 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Doug Hallman will officiate. In lieu of flowers, for those so wishing, memorial donations may be made to the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, 279 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, S7K 2H8, or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, P.O.
