The passing of Garry Collins of Beechy, Sask. occurred on Monday, February 16, 2015, near Beechy, Sask., at the age of 76 years. Garry's love for his Lord and Savior was evident and one of his favourtie scripture passages was Psalm 92:12-15. He lived his life knowing that the Promise of God is true; the Character of God is sure; and the Faithfulness of God is forever. Garry was a beloved husband who will be missed by all his family and friends.
Garry's funeral service was held on Sunday, February 22, 1015, at the Beechy Hillside Christian Fellowship Church, with Pastor Mike Ousek officiating. The pallbearers were: Shayne Collins, Josh Collins, Matthew Collins, Ryan Collins, Hugh Morrow and Brennan MacGregor. The honourary pallbearers were: Bob Collins, Jim Collins, Ted Perrin, Alan Horn, Jim Stenerson and Garry's three grandsons, Jaden Collins, Adam Collins & Clash MacGregor. Words of Remembrance were shared by family and friends. The ushers were Blair Collins, Neil Danroth and Reg Schellenberg. The guest register was attennded by Geoff Ringrose and Deanie Ringrose. The organist was Velma Wiens and special music was given by Brennan MacGregor and Adara Morrow. Interment took place in the Collins Cemetery.
Garry is lovingly remembered by his wife, Bonnie; his family: Shayne (Carla) Collins and sons, Jaden & Adam; Cindy Collins and her daugher, Kendra; Lana (Hugh) Morrow and their children, Adara & Larissa; Josh (Lindsey) Collins; Abigail (Brennan) MacGregor & son, Clash; and Matthew Collins; two brothers, James (Karen) and Robert (Diane); seven sisters, Marlene (Jim) Hale, Olive (Ted) Perrin, Jean (Maurice) Tetreault, Charlotte (Tex) Cleveland, Virginia (Walter) Ley, Elaine (Dave) Baldwinson, and Diana (Glenn) Hanke; brother-in-law, Dave Winkle; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Sharon Winkle and by his parents, Alexander & Anna Collins.
