ERICKSON – Arnold Thomas was born on July 11, 1920 and while surround by family; he peacefully went to meet his Lord and Savior on February 26, 2015. He was born to Knut and Judith Erickson in their family home seven miles south of Simmie, SK on the family farm. He received his education at Early School. Arnold married the love of his life, Jackoline, on December 9, 1948 in Swift Current, SK and they were blessed with 67 wonderful years together. As a young man, Arnold served in the military, worked for the CPR, became a mechanic and was a self-taught accomplished carpenter. He was also employed by the Co-op in Simmie, Shaunavon and Swift Current. He was a devout family man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. The activities Arnold loved most were golfing, curling, camping, travelling and music. He is survived by his wife, Jackie, their 2 sons, Wayne (Norma) Erickson, Rick (Aline) Erickson, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, Kent (Michelle) Ross & Children Karissa, Chandel, Logan (Amy), Shayla, Ty & Hannah, Connie Kennedy and children, Joel, Hana,& Katie. Kyle (Brandi) Kozlowski & children Scout & Cash, Ryan (Yvonne) Erickson, Carrie (Rob) Schwabenbauer, Jeff (Anne) Erickson & children Taylor & Finley, his older brother, Kalmer Erickson along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, younger brother Milton & two sister-in-laws, Ina & Clara Erickson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the ALS Society of Canada. The memorial service was held on Friday, March 6, 2015, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Pastor Linda Hall officiating. The organist was Arlene Olson with special music by Brandi Kozlowski and a eulogy was read by son Rick Erickson. The ushers were Michael Banick and Brian Olsen. The readers were Ryan Erickson, Connie Kennedy and Kyle Kozlowski. The honorary pallbearers were all his friends and family.
