Laura “Joyce” (Greene) Archibald, 91, Denver, Guysborough Co., passed away peacefully at the Aberdeen Hospital, Wednesday, March 11, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 2, 1923, in East River St. Mary’s, Pictou Co., she was a daughter of the late William and Mary (Moser) Greene. After her marriage to Clarence in 1948, she made her home in Denver. She was an active member of the Glenelg Presbyterian Church, AMS and Rose Auxiliary, WINS and Sunlight Rebekah Lodge. She taught for several years in one room schoolhouses in various communities in Guysborough and Pictou counties. She provided childcare for many years in her home. Joyce loved to play Scrabble, do Lexicon puzzles, read, bake and make pickles. She was known for her sharp memory and her hospitality, as she always wanted guests to have a cup of tea and a bite to eat. No one ever left her home hungry.
