Ryan (Schofield), Evelyn Hazel – Tatamagouche. It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn announce her peaceful passing at Willow Lodge in Tatamagouche on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Evelyn was raised in Greenwich, Kings County, Nova Scotia and was the daughter of the late Clyde and Helen (Hefler) Schofield. She is survived by her husband, Robert Ryan, daughter Darlene (Terry) Wyss, of Ottawa, Ont.; son, Eric (Velma), of Stratford, PEI; and brother, Greg (Joan), of Quallicum Beach, British Columbia. She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Hazel Evelyn, and sister, Phyllis MacDonald formerly of Stellarton. Evelyn was very proud of her grandchildren, Shaun (Tammy) Purdy, Halifax; Kirsten (Gerry) (Purdy) Shortill, Orleans, Ont.; her great grandchildren, Stephanie Mason, Orleans Ont.; Liam and Ewan Fowler-Purdy, Halifax. Evelyn was active in the community and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Hills of Annan Social Club in Tatamagouche, and for many years a member of the Lionette’s in Truro. Bob and Evelyn were regulars at local dances and card parties in the Truro and Tatamagouche area for 67 years. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015 in Coulters Funeral Home, 48 Riverside Drive, Tatamagouche. No funeral service to be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Evelyn’s memory can be made to the Tatamagouche Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary, Willow Lodge or a charity of your choice.
