Ritchie O. Boyd, 82 years of age, of Amherst, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Belmont, he was a son of the late A. Cecil & Inez (Whippie) Boyd.

Ritchie was a life member of the Lions Club. Ritchie worked in the retail parts industry for most of his working life, retiring in Economy NS at 55. He loved to go to auctions and refinishing chars in his spare time. He liked to travel when he could.

He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Carolyn Boyd (Dwight Giddens) of Bible Hill, Jane Webber of Moncton, NB , Lynn Morrell (Lester) of Moncton, NB.; son, Phillip (Traci) of Brampton, ON; eight grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; sisters, Marilyn Higgins of NS, Lois Josey of Sheet Harbour, NS; brother, Ben (Grace) of Bible Hill, NS and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Emily, a son in infancy, sister, Carol Valentine, brothers Kenneth & Frank Boyd, Raymond in infancy.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS. In keeping with Ritchie's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours. A celebration of Ritchie's life will be held at a later date.
