LEVY, Carroll Martin – 84, Upper Vaughan, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born July 6, 1930, in New Ross, he was a son of the late Forman and Marguerite (Walker) Levy. Carroll was a very hard worker who always provided well for his family. He worked at various jobs throughout his lifetime including: working with McCully and Soy, both in the woods and driving a ditching machine, worked in the woods with Elmer Lantz, worked at various carpentry jobs and various jobs with Nothin’ Fancy Stores and Gerald Bonang. In his early years, he went to pick tobacco and apples in the United States; he often shared stories of those experiences. A number of years ago, Scott took us back to Delhi and Tillsonburg so Carroll could see the place, although it had changed a lot since he picked tobacco there. He was a member of Vaughan’s United Church. Carroll is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Ella Jean (Levy); sons, Scott (Heather Coulson), and their children, Cole, Kieran, Bronwyn, Yarker, Ontario; Collin (Jessica Lake), and their children, Blake, Whitman, Upper Vaughan; Eric, Halifax; sisters, Annie Mosher, Three Mile Plains; Ina Smith, Greenwich; brothers, Roy (Amelda), New Ross; Foster (Shirley), Aylesford; Vernon (Bonnie), New Ross; sister-in-law, Joyce Levy, Brooklyn; numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Helen (Atwood) Levy; brothers, Allan “Allie”, Cecil, Sperry (Theresa), Clyde (Kathy); brothers-in-law, Bernie Smith, Albert Mosher. Thank you to all who have given your support in any way. We have wonderful friends and family who have gone above and beyond. We are deeply indebted and words cannot express how grateful we are. Once again, a heartfelt thanks. As per Carroll’s wishes, there will be a graveside service and celebration of his life in the summer.
