GIBSON, MARIE ANN
Marie Ann Gibson passed away peacefully on 23 March, 2015 at her residence in the presence of her loving family.
Predeceased by her beloved son Paul Arthur and her parents Arthur and Myrtle Breau of St. John, N.B.
She is survived by her husband David, daughter Lynn, son Alan, grandson Jacob, granddaughter Kristin, and grandson in love Matthew Johnson. Also survived by her sister Anita Garnett (Robert), nieces Rosalind, Kathy and Carrie; sister Susan Wall (David), nieces Kristy, Karlene and nephew Kurt; brother William Breau (Janice), nephews Todd, Corey, Andrew and Darren.
Marie was born in Saint John, N.B., on 11 October 1941. After schooling, she held various secretarial positions, one of them at the Veterans Hospital in Saint John where she met LCpl (paid) D.L.E. (Dave) Gibson, a patient of said institution. Following a short courtship, Marie and David married at Saint John on 25 September 1965. Marie served the Nation for 28 years as a Military Wife with all the incumbent upheavals of separations for exercises, duties, UN postings etc. In addition to the separations, she was required to pack up her brood every four years for a move to another province. Marie helped many others and touched hearts wherever she was and will be remembered as: A good Woman, A faithful Wife, A loving Mother, A devoted servant of GOD.
May she rest in peace in the Kingdom of her Lord with her son. Lovingly remembered and forever in the hearts of her family.
We wish to express our sincere appreciation to her family physician, Dr. Elaine Thurgood, all staff, medical and otherwise, involved with Marie's comfort and care at LHSC Victoria Campus, London Cancer Clinic, CCAC and Pond Mills Medical Pharmacy.
Family will receive friends at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday morning from 10 o'clock where the funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock, with Fr. Mark Poulin officiating. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
