Passed peacefully but suddenly away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, Walter M. Whalen of Riverhead, Harbour Grace, age 85 years. Predeceased by daughter: Linda and parents: John and Mary. Left to mourn, wife: Elsie; daughter: Jackie (Byron) Moores, Victoria; two sons: Bob (Mary) Farrell and John, both of Riverhead, Harbour Grace; nine grandchildren: Bobbie Jo (Darren), Steven (Vanessa), Ryerson, Cody, Jesse, Nicole, Jake, Chad and Jonathan; eleven great-grandchildren; special friends: Jim and Joyce Whalen, Riverhead, Harbour Grace; a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace. Fr. John Peddle conducted the Funeral Mass on Friday, March 27 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace.
