Naseeb (Budd) Shaheen

Naseeb James (Budd) Shaheen, age 86, passed away peacefully with family at his side on March 21, 2015 in Swift Current. Budd was born on the family farm, near Rush Lake in 1928. He left for Sudbury, Ontario to work on the railroad at 19, coming home to work on the farm on his holidays. He went to STI in Moose Jaw, and enjoyed spending time visiting with the many friends and customers that he had an opportunity to share a coffee with at his business on Central Avenue (Shaheen's TV). He spent over 50 years selling and servicing TVs, radios and satellite dishes. Electronics and antique radios were his passion. He also enjoyed spending time out in the rural country, whether he was at the family farm during harvest or at his daughter and son in law's ranch in Gouldtown. Budd did enjoy travelling and usually combining business with pleasure visiting with his Lebanese relatives. Budd's truest passion was his family. He loved his brothers and sisters, especially occasions that brought them together. Most of all, he enjoyed the company of his children and grandchildren and spending Birthdays, Christmas and Easter together. Budd had many interests and hobbies including old radios and antiques including membership in the Frontier City Antique Auto Club. Budd also served as President of the local Arab Cultural Association and the Saskatchewan Multicultural Council. He served on Vestry and was the People's Warden at St. Stephen's Anglican Church. In addition, Budd was a volunteer and member of several service clubs including: Rotary, the Odd Fellows, Foresters, as well as the Grand Exalter Ruler with Royal Purple. Budd was always willing to lend a hand to those folks down on their luck. He would often extend an offer to join him during meal times or those who would be alone. Budd was humble, kind and compassionate and will be dearly missed. Budd leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 52 years, Doris, Sarah (Trevor) Doerksen of Gouldtown, SK; Stephen (Rhonda) Shaheen of Saskatoon, SK; Grandchildren Ashley, Shae-Lynne and Mark Shaheen; Derek and Matt Doerksen; Great Granddaughter Syrena Shaheen; Brother Ted (Betty) Shaheen of Swift Current, SK; Sister Yvonne (Herb) Miller of Calgary; Sister-in-Law Marj Shaheen of Swift Current; Nephews and Nieces Kim Shaheen, Nolan Shaheen, Charlie Shaheen, Leanne Dobbs, Rod Miller, Mardelle Gamble, Trevor Shaheen, Ken Braumberger, Fran Moynan, and Charlie Braumberger and their families.
