It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Lillian Blewer, 83, of Scotchtown, on March 26, 2015 at New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.
Born in New Waterford, she was a daughter of the late Pearl MacLeod.
Lillian was a member of Calvin United Church and Scotchtown Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxilliary. She enjoyed playing bingo and was very fond of animals, especially dogs. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are daughters, Willena (Bernard) McPherson, New Waterford, Cassie (Bradley) Harper, Scotchtown, Florence Blewer and Isabell Blewer, both of Sydney; son, Robert (Sharon) Blewer, New Waterford; brothers, William, John Alex, both of New Waterford, Joseph, Montreal; sister, Louise, Ont.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; sons-in-law, Russell Hibbert and David Dauphney.
Besides her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Alex Blewer and a sister, Viola Cadgan.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 29th, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral service will take place Monday, March 30th at 2 p.m. in Calvin United Church, New Waterford, with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. Cremation will follow with a burial in Union Grove Cemetery at a later date. Lillian will be taken to the church at noon on Monday. There will be a luncheon in the Rev. Duncan Roach Fellowship Room immediately following the funeral service.
