On Thursday, March 26, 2015, Margaret Goodwin passed away peacefully at the Gilmore Lodge in Fort Erie, Ontario, in her 88th year. She was predeceased by her husband Robert (March 2001) and her son Robert (October 2014). She was the proud mother of Cathy Malone, Madelyn (Joe Gillis), Dennis (Lea), Brian (Margaret) and Harold (Shirley). She leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Our mother was a proud war bride joining dad in 1946 when she landed at Pier 21 to join dad on P.E.I. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Gilmore Lodge for their compassion and great care and all their hugs. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie, entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 29, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday, March 30, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Ridgeway Memorial Cemetery. If so desired donations in memory of Margaret may be made to Ladies Auxiliary at Gilmore Lodge.
