Thursday, March 26, 2015
Margaret Hildebrandt passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus with her family and friends by her side at home in the Palliser Regional Care center Thursday the 26th of March 2015. Margaret was born to John and Anna Hildebrandt on February 22, 1939 and lived in the village of Rhineland. In 1966 John and Anna built a house in Swift Current and Margaret would live in Swift Current for a month or two with them and then spend a few months in the home at Rhineland with her brother and sisters. John passed away in 1974 and a few years later Margaret and her mom moved to Herbert to live in the nursing home there. When Anna passed away in 1987 Margaret began her life in her new home at the Palliser Regional Care Center. Margaret had a very outgoing and determined personality. She never hesitated to let anyone know what she was thinking. Everyone that she met, quickly became her friend and she particularly loved her Palliser family. Anyone who brought Margaret a Christmas, Birthday or any other gift, usually included a bag of Cheesies. MARGARET LOVED CHEESIES! Many of her friends would bring Cheesies just for a treat – no special reason – just because they loved her. She always had a bag or two in her cupboard – anytime was Cheesie time! Margaret loved to dress up for all and any occasion. She had a wide array of jewelry which included beads and earrings. She enjoyed having her hair and make-up done and always had her nails painted – toe nails too sometimes. Eye shadow and blush were important. Everything had to be bright and colorful. Nice body wash and perfume were also among the things she loved. She loved it when the staff would make a fuss over her! A lady has to look & smell good!! Happy Birthday was the song at the top of her chart list and she would light up with a big smile at every opportunity to sing it. Margaret is survived by her sisters Agnes Funk and Olga, brothers Bill (Margaret nee Rempel), Issac, and David, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Anna (nee Dueck), sisters Anna (Abe) Heibert, twin sisters Tina and Mary, Helen (George) Weibe, and infant twin sisters. Brother's Henry, Jacob, and Johnny in infancy. Also brother-in-law Henry Funk and sister-in-law Lena (nee Fehr). Margaret will be greatly missed by her family, all who knew her, and especially her Palliser family and friends. She is now walking with her savior singing an amazing rendition of Happy Birthday with all of heaven. A Memorial Service for Margaret was held Sunday March 29, 2015, 2:00 pm at the Palliser Regional Care Center. An interment of cremated remains will occur on a later date at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Swift Current where she will be laid to rest with her twin sisters Tina and Mary. Thank you to the Care Givers and Friends of the Palliser Regional Care Center who have given Margaret a loving home and family for the past 28 years.
