HATT, SHIRLEY LUELLA (CRAIG)
Shirley Luella (Craig) Hatt passed peacefully at the Fundy Nursing Home late Thursday evening, 02 April 2015. Shirley was in her 84th year having been born 18 August 1931, the youngest daughter of the late Harry Adelbert Craig and Marguerite Alice (Daisy) Townsend of Bonny River.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Clinton Samuel Hatt and is survived by her children and grandchildren: June (Jim) Goddard and Joleen Droste (Steve); Blaine (Pierrette) and Kara Aina (Stephen), Kalie Hatt-Kilburn (Colin), Kendra Cosman (Randy), Justin (Kaiti), Jarom (Hannah) and Jonan; Allen (Lynne), Craig (Claudine), Charla Hatt-Thompson (Chris) and Charlane Hatt (Jeremy Barnet); Russell (Beth), Mandy Barry (Chris), Jamie (Angela) and Jennifer Bannerman; Carla Dwyer (Gary), Aaron (Christina), Sarah Mirsky (Charles), Ashley and Mark; Terry (Denise), Ryan and Jordan; 19 great grand-children, her sister, Florence (Craig) Chambers, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Clinton, she was predeceased by grandsons: Jordan Hatt and Danny Bannerman and by sisters: Mary Steen, Mildred MacDonald, Frances Justason, Edith Hamilton, Eileen McLellan and by one daughter-in-law: Renie Hatt.
She was a life-time member of the Saint George United Baptist Church and enjoyed playing the piano and organ at Church services in Saint George and Bonny River. Music was an important part of her life and playing the accordion with friends and family was a special attraction at family and community gatherings.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, Saint George NB. Resting at the funeral home on Sunday from 7 to 9 pm and at the Saint George United Baptist Church on Monday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jason Hooper officiating. The interment will take place at the St. George Rural Cemetery at a later date.
In Shirley's memory, donations to the Saint George United Baptist Church, the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
