Sandy lost his battle to ALS on March 31, 2015 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary.
Born in Inverness, he was the son of Patsy (Ingraham) Saccary and the late Joseph O’Brien.
Sandy was a kind-hearted man. He loved his family very much and adored his nieces and nephew. He was into U.F.C. and was, and still is, a die-hard Montreal Canadien fan. He treated everyone equally and always gave anybody a second chance, even though they might not always have deserved it.
He is survived by his mother Patsy (Ingraham) Saccary and step-father Brian Saccary; one brother Barry (Amy Wilkins), Dartmouth; sister Sheila (Lenny Groves), North Sydney; nieces, Sabia Gosse, Talia Gosse; nephew, Joseph Groves.
He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph; maternal grand-parents Murdock 'Pat' and Catherine 'Kay' Ingraham; paternal grandparents, Christopher and Elizabeth O’Brien.
Visitation will be at Cheticamp Funeral Home on Monday, April 6 from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Peter’s Church, Cheticamp with Father Allan MacMillan officiating. Burial in parish cemetary at a later date.
