It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Cyril Keating announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on April 4, 2015 at the age of 72 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife and best friend of 49 years Lydia, his two daughters Sharon (Jason) of Kippens and Barb (Jamie) of Brampton, Ontario. Also leaving to mourn are his four very special grandchildren Bradley, Ryan, Tyler and Justin who brought a tremendous joy to his life. Beloved bother to Mary (Robert) Gilliard, Pauline (Bob) Patton, Melvin (Bernice), Sears (Carolyn), Carlos, Michael (Bertha), Ann (Derrick) Gilliard, Joan (Thomas) Benoit, Earleen (Robert) Hulan, Myles (Melinda), Jean (Randy) Rozee and Kevin (Brenda) as well a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Cyril and Emma Jane Keating and his sister Marguerite Bardell. Visitation will take place on Tuesday April 7th, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Russell's Funeral Home in Stephenville. A funeral mass will take place at St. Stephen's Parish in Stephenville on Wednesday April 8th, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with interment at the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Autism Society of Newfoundland - Western Chapter, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association. We will be forever grateful to Dr. Qureshi, Dr. Diedericks, Dr. Hayat, along with the nursing staff at Sir Thomas Roddick hospital for their excellent care and compassion shown to our family during his time there. We would love to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Sheila Lewis for her tremendous support over the last few years. Also, a sincere thank you to Father Jim and Father Paul from St. Stephen's Parish who visited him frequently.
