It is with great sadness and faith, the family of Murdena Clements, age 84, announce her peaceful passing on April 3, 2015 (Good Friday) at home, surrounded by her loving family.
A lifelong resident of Glace Bay, Murdena was the daughter of the late Max and Elsie MacPherson; and was predeceased by her loving husband Charles (Buddy) Clements.
Murdena is survived by her daughters, Veronica (Tom) O’Keefe, Charlene Keylor, Cathy (Gerry) Brown, Paula (Kevin) McNamara, and sons, Allan (Carrie) and Brad. Also to remember Murdena are her 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as sisters Rita Bedecki, Elsie Ellsworth, Sharon McMordie and Linda (Fraser) Simm; brothers, Erville, Max (Rose), Kevin (Marlene), Everett (Betty), and Annette Power who is like one of the family.
Along with her husband Buddy, Murdena was predeceased by birth parent Murdock McQueen, parents Max and Elsie MacPherson, parents-in-law, Fred and Iris Clements brothers-in-law, Danny Bedecki, Evie Ellsworth, Freddie and Wayne Clements, and Marvin McMordie, sisters-in-law, Evelyn MacPherson and Joan Metcalf.
Visitation will be today (Monday, April 6) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Curry’s Glace Bay Funeral Home, 775 Main St. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 7 at 11 a.m., Holy Cross Church. The Rev. Leo Boone will be officiating.
Cremation will follow the service and interment in the spring.
Family flowers only please. Donations may be made to Palliative Care or Mass for Shut Ins.
The family request no scents.
