Rachel Pauline Jackson

Jackson, Rachel Pauline - 86 Truro, passed away at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on April 2, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Rachel was born October 4, 1928 in Amherst, Nova Scotia to the late Greta Ione (Parsons) Clyke and Edward Joseph Clyke. Rachel truly loved her family, friends and community. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Colchester Legion Branch 26 in Truro for more than 50 years. She loved spending time with company in her home, talking and laughing with family and friends from near and far. Rachel will be missed for the special meals she cooked, her homemade root beer and candy apples. Her laugh was infectious, coupled with an unbelievable quick wit. She is survived by her loving children, Pat (Shelley Borden), Truro, Shawn, Kevin (Terry) and Sherry (Wade Smith) all of Halifax; son-in-law, Mitchell Sparks of Toronto; grandchildren, Glen, Margo, Nathan, Clifford, Hank, Storm, Nicole, Shakira, Jaydan and Jaxon; sisters, Nordicia Drummond (Brian), Yvonne Jordan (late Arthur) of Truro, Theadora Clyke and Beverley Paris (Leo) of Montreal; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Lloyd and daughter, Linda Sparks; sisters, Gloria Paris (Burton), Myra Clyke, Cleo Maxwell (Stan) and brother, Edward Clyke. The family would like to thank Dr. Neil Bower and the VON nurses for their diligent care. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7 from 7-9 p.m. with memorial service on Wednesday, April 8 at 2 p.m. both from the Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, Pastor Brian O. Johnston officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Zion Baptist Church, Sign Fund. Interment will be in Robie Street Cemetery, Truro at a later date.
