It is with heavy hearts that the family of Thomas Melanos, age 64, of Stewart, B.C. announce his sudden passing at home on Thursday, March 26, 2015.
Born in River Hebert, N.S. he was the son of the late Frank Melanson and Elizabeth Hyden.
tom enjoyed fishing, volunteering in the community and loved his three dogs.
He is survived by his son, Shawn Melanson of Vancouver, B.C.; a daughter, Charlene Melanson of Burnaby, B.C.; sisters, Sonia Melanson of Trout Creek, Ont.; Darlene (Neil) Mitchell of Joggins, N.S.; Jean Marie Scopie of River Hebert, N.S.; Pamela (Steve) Brown of Amherst, N.S.; brothers, Bernard Melanson of Joggins, N.S.; Robert Scopie of Toronto, Ont.; two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and great nieces Emma and Olivia.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Rose Melanson, a brother, Michael Scopie; a sister, Sandra Libby; nephew, Daniel Melanson; brother-in-laws, Larry Bester, Gordon Libby and Fred Brown.
There will be a memorial service in Stewart, B.C. and burial in River Hebert at a later date.
