It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Margaret Ann Corbett, 55, of New Waterford on April 8, 2015, at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.
Margaret Ann enjoyed playing darts where, in earlier years, she played in a league at the Heather Tavern. She loved watching wrestling and following her favourite teams, the Toronto Blue Jays and Maple Leafs. Maragret Ann adored dolphin figurines and accumulated a large collection over the years which she proudly diplayed at her home. Most of all, she loved being surrounded by family and friends.
Surviving are her husband Ritchie 'Tapper' Corbett; daughter Margaret Ann, New Waterford; son Ritchie (Robin), Halifax; stepson Francis Muise (Christine), New Waterford; brother Sandy (Joyce), Ontario; sister Mary Chapstick, Cheticamp; grandchildren, Terrance, Justin, Madison, Haley, Emma, Jessica, Alex and Brandon; several nieces, nephews and in-laws; special sister-in-law, Gale (Wayne); special niece Shelby (Rob Hawley), both of New Waterford; mother-in-law, Sarah Corbett; best friend, Mary Hannigan.
Margaret Ann was predeceased by her sister, Sarah, grandparents, Martin and Margie Power, sisters-in-law, Ann Lewis and Lorraine MacNeil.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service for family and friends will be held in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith St., New Waterford on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 2 p.m. with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Hospice/Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton, or a charity of one's choice. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
