THOMPSON, HUGH LEVI
Unexpectedly at the residence of his son at Saint John, NB on Friday, April 10, 2015, Mr. Hugh Levi Thompson, loving husband of Alice Mae (Harris) Thompson of Blacks Harbour NB. Born at Canal, NB on July 16, 1932 he was a son of the late Hugh Levi and Florence Lillian (Bryant) Thompson.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his loving wife Alice Hugh is survived by his daughter: Jeannette Spearing (Frank Harris) of Rothsay NB, sons; Bob (Sharon) Thompson of Saint John NB and Wayne (Irene) Thompson of Blacks Harbour NB, five Grandchildren; Natasha, Erica (Chris), Travis (Samantha) Rebecca and Pamela (Kenny), two great-grandchildren; Logan and Mandy, brothers; James (Shirley) and Arnold both of Blacks Harbour and Henry of London ON, sisters; Florence Richard, Gladys (Waistel) Scott, Marion (Leo) Richard and Ida Deveau all of Blacks Harbour as well as several nieces including Marlene and Darlene, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Harry and Earl.
Prior to his retirement Hugh had been employed at Lake Utopia Paper for over 25 years as a paper mill operator. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, boating or just being outdoors. He also had a passion for artwork and was a expert handyman who would tackle just about any task. Hugh was also an avid reader and storyteller who always told a good story. Finally he was a devoted husband, dad and grandfather who loved his family dearly and will be sadly missed.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street St. George, NB. In keeping with Hugh's wishes there will be no visitation or service.
In his memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
