Walter Swinamer

Born: October 8th, 1931

Walter Raymond Swinamer, 83, of Windsor, Hants County, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, born on October 8, 1931 in Three Mile Plains, Hants County, he was the son of the late Raymond and Alice (Wilson) Swinamer. In Walter’s early working years he worked in Ontario doing various jobs. After returning to Nova Scotia he worked for various companies as a licensed mechanic and also for Roy Judge; Trainor GMC; Carl Potter and Irving Oil. Throughout his life he enjoyed helping family, friends and neighbours fixing their mechanical problems. Walter also enjoyed travelling and camping. He was a man of many words and never at a loss for one. Surviving are his wife of thirty years, the former Rosemary Lyon; sons, Tim (Paula) , Hammonds Plains; Jim (Sally), Sackville; daughter; Jo-Anne (Martin) Ripenburg, Hamilton, Ontario; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; step-son, Edward (Mandy) Fleet, Windsor; sister, Kay Bates, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughter, Susan Swinamer; brother, Emerson “Sonny”; sisters, Elta Williams, Barbara Wile and one sister in infancy. There will be no visitation by request. A celebration of Walter’s life will be held at a later date. Donations in Walter’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
