RICHARD, MARIA (AZÉLIA)
1943 - 2015
Maria (Azélia) Richard, 71, of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, passed away peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her family and her faithful companion and beloved dog, Tasha, on Thursday, April 16, 2015. Born in Saint-Joseph-de-Kent, she was the daughter of the late Ovila and the late Sarah (Caissie) Bastarache.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Rachelle Richard-Collette (Léonard) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, her son, Paul Richard (Maurice) of Ottawa, her grandchildren; Céline Collette Girouard (Rémi), Julien Collette (Mireille), Georges Richard and Katherine Richard and her great-grandson, Danik Collette. She also leaves to mourn her sisters; Angela Allain (Alcide), Irma LeBlanc (Joseph), both of Saint-Joseph-de-Kent, her brothers; Donald Bastarache (Mélina) of Saint-Joseph-de-Kent, Jos Bastarache (Helen) of Fitchburg, Mass, her sister-in-law, Jeannette Bastarache of Saint-Edouard and several nieces and nephews.
Maria was predeceased by two brothers; Edouard (2003) and Hervé (2009).
Visitations will be held in the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, on Friday, April 24th, 2015 from 7 to 9pm and on Saturday from 9 to 10:45am. The Funeral Mass will be held in the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Church, on Saturday, April 25th, 2015 at 11:00am.
In Maria's memory, a donation can be made to The Arthritis Society or to the Knights of Columbus Student Bursary Fund.
