JONES, M. ELIZABETH
1934 - 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of M. Elizabeth (Betty) Jones (Lamb) on April 18, 2015. Born in Berwick, NS on August 14, 1934, she was the daughter of Catherine Lamb (Offord) and James Lamb.
She is survived by her husband, Ewen Jones, Moncton, NB; sisters Janet Smith of Victoria, BC, Jacqueline (Pixie) Dunn of Green Valley, AZ and sister-in-law Velma Carter, Moncton, NB. She will be sadly missed by her children Coleen (Gerald) Jardine, C. Beth (Edwin) Dow, Keith (Marlene) (Cheryl LeBlanc) Jones, and Heather Jones.
She was predeceased by daughter Holly (David) Ferguson.
Her eight natural grandchildren and two step-grandchildren were a source of great joy and each will have special memories of Nanny. Nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews will remember her.
Elizabeth graduated from MHS in 1953 and from the Moncton Hospital of Nursing in 1956. She spent many years in a variety of positions caring for others. Special time was enjoyed with friends and family on Treasure Island. Volunteering for the Alzheimer Society brought her a great deal of satisfaction as did her work with Red Cross Meals on Wheels.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or to a charity of one's choice.
A Remembrance Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, NB between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. An online book of condolences is available to sign at www.fairhavenmemorial.ca.
