McGillivray: Robby (Bob) McGillivray, age 84, of Tompkins, SK passed away March 31, 2015 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current. The Celebration of Life service was held at 2:00 pm, Monday, March 20, 2015 from the Tompkins Community Centre with Reverend Eleanor Rockabar officiating. The pianist was Graham Kusler. Life Tributes were presented by his grandchildren, Charisse, Chantel and Dustin, and a tribute to his life was read by Pat Simpson. The ushers were Ron Cote and Pat Robinson. Honorary Pallbearers were all who shared in his life. The interment service will take place at a later date at the Tompkins Community Cemetery. Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Verna; son Brian (Wanda) McGillivray and Courtney (Callum), Craig and Michael Rudolph; daughter Lynn (Bill) Cooke and grandchildren Charisse (Scott) Garland, Chantel Cooke and Dustin Cooke; great granddaughter Lily Garland; sisters Violet Patterson, Eileen Waldren and Jean Johnson; brothers-in-law Jim Wilson and Doug Rathwell; sister-in-law Marion Simpson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Janet McGillivray; brothers Clarence, Jim, Melvin, Eldon and Gordon; sisters Bessie, Margaret and Evelyn; brothers-in-law Pat Patterson, Harry Johnson, Ken Stewart, John Rose and Russell Simpson; and sisters-in-law Kay McGillivray, Margie McGillivray, Kay Rathwell and Dorothy Wilson. Bob was born on September 24, 1930 in Piapot, SK. He attended school in Piapot. Bob was united in marriage to Verna Simpson on September 30, 1960 in Tompkins, SK. Bob started work with his father in the Dray Business, hauling numerous things and then worked for Andy Reznechenko hauling fuel. Following this he began work for CP Rail for 37 years and then worked with the Gull Lake School Division as a bus driver. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed sports such as hockey, baseball and golf and also cut the fairways at the golf course for several years. He also enjoyed carpentry and hunting, which was a favorite pastime, and loved to play cards, especially nickel's and cribbage. Bob would help anyone who needed a hand, be it building something, moving cows, ect. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends. In his memory, memorial donation may be made to the Tompkins Community Centre or the Charity of the Donor's Choice. Warren's Funeral Home were in care of the arrangements.
