Annie Laurie McNeil, age 94, a former resident of both, Miller Manor and Royal Avenue, Dominion, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney.
Born in Dominion, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Margaret (McNeil) Morrison.
Annie lived in the Boston area for 25 years. While there, she was employed at a nursing home. Annie was a former member of the Dominion Pensioners Club and at one time she belonged to a local dart club. She will be remembered as a kind and prayerful lady.
Annie is survived by one daughter, Christina Ashe; three sons, Neil (Maria), Michael, Phillip (Jayne), all in the Boston, Massachusetts area; a twin sister, Elizabeth; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Annie will be sadly missed by her two close friends, Janine Fiolek and Carol McVeigh.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Peter Morrison, second husband, Roderick ‘Roddie’ McNeil, son, Peter, four sisters, Sally, Bridget, Margaret, Mary, two brothers, Alexander and Angus.
Cremation has taken place. A funeral service, officiated by Fr. Danny Boudreau will be held in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay on Thursday at 3 p.m. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
