DOANE, Clarence Creighton – age 88, of Wellington, Yarmouth Co., N.S passed away peacefully with family by his side on May 5, 2015. Born in Pembroke, Yarmouth Co., he was a son of the late Willard and Laliah (Lyons) Doane. Clarence was a retired bookkeeper and member of the Tri County Flying Association. He loved to swim and enjoyed the Y.M.C.A as well as walking on the beach. Clarence was the last surviving member of his immediate family and besides his parents was predeceased by his brother, Kendric Ross and sister in infancy, Marion Bernice. He is survived by sister-in-law, Betty Weston; nieces, Sandra Gavel, Beverly Eaton, Dorothy Bishop, Connie Doane; nephews, Brian and Arthur; and cousin, Frances Bain. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation took place Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Friday, May 8, 2015 at 2 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Eric Whitehouse officiated. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery, Hebron.
