GREEN, MAURICE WAYNE
(1946-2015)
Mr. Maurice Green of Grand Harbour, Grand Manan Island passed away unexpectedly at the Grand Manan Hospital on Wednesday, May 6, 2015. He was born July 2, 1946 at North Head, the son of the late Earle and Avis (Cheney) Green.
Maurice was dedicated to his family and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Maurice was an active business leader in the community. He was owner of MG Fisheries which included a variety of operations. Maurice operated his fishing seiner for many years; operated MG trucking; was an active lobster buyer; and operated the MG Supply store. Maurice served in the community as a Councillor for several terms, was President of Maple Grove Cemetery Company, was a member and past president of the Atlantic Herring Co-op, and a member of the Grand Manan Fishermen's Assoc.
He is survived by his wife Virginia (Fleet), one daughter Jennilyn (Troy Brown), three sons Earle Wayne (Heidi), Dwayne (Danielle), Mark Lambert (Lisa), one sister Carole (Gary) Guptill, as well as 10 grandchildren, Madison and Mya (Jennilyn), Dakota, McKinley, and Kallie (Earl Wayne), Haylen and Arizona (Dwayne), Lauren, Daniel, and John (Mark).
Predeceased by one son Shayne and his brother Norman.
Visiting will take place at Community Life Church, Grand Harbour Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 10, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jeff Benson officiating. The internment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
The family has requested that donations be made to the Jason and Shayne Memorial Scholarship Fund or the Alzheimer's Society. Following the service there will be a reception at the St. Paul's Anglican Church Hall.
