Marilyn LeBlanc

Marilyn LeBlanc, 74, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, May 6, 2015.
Born September 5, 1940 in Amherst, NS, Marilyn was the daughter of the late George and Corrine (Lever) MacDonald.
She graduated from Saint Charles High School in 1957 and was awarded a scholarship to attend Saint Charles Commercial where she obtained her diploma in business.
Marilyn moved to Moncton in 1961 and was blessed with four beautiful children: Michael, Lisa, Jeanette and John Paul. Throughout their childhood, Marilyn dedicated her time to being involved in their schooling, and sporting activities as she wanted nothing but the best for her children.
Marilyn worked for many years as a realtor for K & J Realty in Moncton and later as the Executive Officer for the Greater Moncton Home Builders Association. She was past President of the Atlantic Provinces Jaycettes, Cub Leader for seven years at Holy Family Church, and she was a friend to many in our community.
Marilyn will especially be remembered as being a loving Mother and Nanny. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren and carried pictures of family everywhere she went. She loved being entertained by her grandchildren’s music and spending time with her friends at the ladies Wednesday morning bowling league. She was also an avid golfer and was known to hit a ball farther than her sons. Marilyn enjoyed spending her summers with her family and many friends at her cottage in Caissie Cape.
She will be greatly missed by four children: Mike and daughter-in-law Tami LeBlanc of Ottawa, Lisa LeBlanc of Moncton, Jeanette Gillespie of Dieppe, JP and daughter-in-law Kara LeBlanc of Dieppe; ten grandchildren: Jeffrey LeBlanc, Ryan Gillespie, Michael Gillespie, Patrick Gillespie, Justin LeBlanc, Charlie Gillespie, Madison LeBlanc, Meghan Gillespie, Nathan LeBlanc and Taylor LeBlanc; two sisters: Jeanette Lorhan and Cathy Ritchie.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of The Moncton Hospital, Jean Coutu on St. George Street and a special thank you to Suzanne Doyon of Extramural Blanche-Bourgeois for the care given to Marilyn.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Friday May 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm only. Funeral service will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church, 57 Falkland Street, Moncton on Saturday May 23, 2015 at 10 am. Interment will be in Saint Charles cemetery, Amherst.
In memory of Marilyn, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
