It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Edward McCarthy announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the age of 76 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his partner of 16 years, Una McCarthy; children: Lori Matias McCarthy and William Edward McCarthy Jr.; Una's children: Brian (Vivian), Andre, Faustina (Keith), Rick (Tara), Alta (Ron), and Carol (Brian); grandchildren: Stephanie McCarthy, Randall McCarthy (Ashley Lamey), Justin Matias, and Denis Matias; Una's grandchildren; great-grand-daughter Isabell McCarthy; brother June (Mona) McCarthy; mother of his children Blanche Fitchett; as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by parents Eugene and Elsie McCarthy, brothers Den, Jim, and Dick, and sisters Delores and Jane. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Sunday 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from The Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mt. Bernard Avenue with Father Edward Terry officiating. Interment will follow at the Townsite Roman Catholic Cemetery.
