Born December 4, 1931 in Nelson B.C. passed away May 6, 2015 in St. Mary’s Hospital Sechelt, B.C. Stan spent much of his life at sea. He was a Master of vessels fishing all of British Columbia and many years fishing the Gulf of Alaska, the Bering Sea and Newfoundland. Determination got him past a very debilitating stroke at age 69. With the love and care of his wife Ida he was able to spend many years in his own home and visit his cabin in the Caribou. On occasion he was known to appreciate a fine cognac, smoke a good cigar and dance a competent tango. Freemasonry was his passion and he embraced the many friendships of his brothers.
He is survived, loved and missed by his wife Ida, sister Iris (Arne), son Randy, daughter Brenda (Brett), grandchildren Sara and Zach.
A Celebration of Life will be held May 31 at Roberts Creek Masonic Hall from noon-4pm.
In lieu of flowers a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. would be appreciated.
