Robert McGinley

McGinley, Robert (Bob) Wayne – 73, Milford Station, died May 12, 2015, at Truro Hospital. Born in Amherst, NS he was the only child of the late Anna Margaret Cameron McGinley. Bob worked many years as a trucker and finished his career at IMP in Amherst. Bob got to live his childhood dream and was a volunteer fire fighter for over 40 years to the Amherst Fire Department. He was a member of the Amherst Lions Club and then the Milford & District Lions Club. Bob loved to help others, especially if it involved running the roads in his truck. Bob’s home was in Amherst till the last 3 years when he moved to Milford, due to health reasons, to live with his son Doug’s family where he got to enjoy his passion for stock car racing by being part of the “crew”. He is survived by his sons, Douglas (Debbie) Milford Station and Stephen (Maria) Rines Creek; 8 grandchildren, Jeanetta, Katelyn, Cameron, Jackie, Lori, Katie, Michael and Scott; 2 great grandchildren Maria and Landon and his furry companion Jakie.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 1 pm until funeral service at 2 pm all at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902-667-9906) with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. A reception will be held at the Amherst Fire Department. Interment will take place at a later date in the Amherst Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Amherst Fire Department or the Lions Foundation via the Amherst or Milford Lions Club and don’t forget your pop can tabs.
