It is with extreme sorrow that our family announces the passing of a dearly loved, brave and wonderful man, Rod Collier, age 50 years, of St. John's, NL (formerly of Gallants, NL and Victoria, BC) after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Rod's motto throughout his journey was "keep calm and carry on". Rod has gone to be reunited with his beloved brother Randy, grandparents Silas and Sabina Ralph, James and Meta Collier and father-in-law Mike Cheeseman. Rod will be forever loved and deeply missed by his loving parents, Jim and Marion, his devoted wife Elaine (nee Cheeseman), his precious children: Holly, Sarah, Tyler and Faith; his loving mother-in-law Marina (Sutton) Cheeseman, his dear sisters and brothers-in-law: Michelle, David (Lynn), Michael (Simone) Tanya, Tara (Earl), Kim Collier (Fred Young), Rod's many dear nephews and nieces, as well as a large circle of other relatives, loyal friends and co-workers. As per Rod's wishes, cremation has taken place. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, Torbay. Visitation on Thursday, May 14 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday, May 15 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Funeral service to take place on Saturday, May 16 at 11 a.m. from St. Mark's Anglican Church, Logy Bay Road. Donations in Rod's memory may be made to St. Mark's Anglican Church Building Fund or to the Pancreatic Cancer Society. Flowers also graciously accepted.
