Ogden, Lola M. – 97, Truro

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Lola M. Ogden on May 13, 2015 at home. Born in Port Howe on July 17, 1917, she was a daughter of the late John and Sarah (Tucker) MacDonald. Lola worked in the accounting department of the law firm of Burchell, MacDougall for 17 years before retiring in 1982. Her life revolved around her family. She loved her church and also enjoyed gardening, reading and cooking. She is survived by daughters, Judith (Tom) English, Joan Hanes, Lorraine Davy; sons, Roy (Sandra) Taggart; Kenneth (Carol) Taggart; brother, Norman (Beverly) MacDonald ; sister, Eva Brownell; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Roy R. Taggart; her second husband, Thomas R. Ogden. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 17 from 2-4 pm with funeral service on Monday, May 18 at 2 pm both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro, Rev. Kaj Binderup officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Bass River. Donations in her memory may be made to CNIB or Bass River United Church.
