BURTON, ELEANOR HOPE
It is with deep sadness that the family announce the death of Eleanor Hope Burton (nee Leslie), age 87, wife of the late William (Bill) G. Burton on May 17, 2015 at Mackenzie Health-Richmond Hill, Richmond Hill, ON.
Born in Saint John, NB, Eleanor and Bill spent the majority of their loving marriage in Ottawa, ON. Once widowed, Eleanor resided happily in Richmond Hill, close to her daughter, Linda (David) Hiltz, Richmond Hill, ON and son, Steve (Jennifer) Burton, St. Thomas, ON.
Eleanor was a kind and gentle soul who touched so many and will be greatly missed.
Survived also by utterly devoted grand-daughters, Emily Leslie Hiltz and Emily Celeste Burton who cherished their Nana. Survived by dear friends Wally and Ted Havrot, Ottawa, by loving aunt Lillian Anderson and the whole Anderson clan, Nauwigewauk, NB, by sister-in law Esther Leslie, Rothesay, NB and by several nieces, nephews and friends.
Eleanor was predeceased by her dear brother Gordon Leslie, by her caring mother Emily Roberts and supportive step-father Thomas Roberts of Sussex, NB.
Gratitude sincerely expressed to the professional, kind staff of Sunrise-Richmond Hill Retirement Home - she truly felt at home under their care.
Cremation wishes undertaken through Highland Funeral Home - Markham Chapel, with memorial and interment to be arranged for Ottawa, ON, details to be announced.
