Rupert L. Strong, 76, of Springhill, and formerly of Amherst and Spencer’s Island, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax.
Born in Spencer’s Island, he was a son of the late Mae (Stronge) Hazel.
He is survived by a daughter, Gail Strong, Springhill; sons, Lealand, Springhill; Peter (Lisa), Newmarket, Ont.; Earl St. Croix (Tara), Amherst; sisters, Eugena Hazel, Yarmouth; Dianne Hazel, Parrsboro; Joyce Snow, Saint John, N.B.; Lois Allen, Advocate Harbour; Cheryl Stewart (Angus), Parrsboro; brother, Clifford "Buck", Spencer’s Island; 7 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Elizabeth “Liz” Higgins; his step-father, Spicer Hazel; brothers, Glen, Robert.
