Dorothy Mae Downing (nee Blue)
Dorothy, known as “Granny” from Chateau St. Michael’s, Moose Jaw, formerly of Rouleau, SK, died peacefully on May 30, 2015. Dorothy was born December 13, 1913 at Corinne, SK and lived to be the awesome age of 101. She always said that keeping busy was her secret to a long and healthy life. Predeceased by her parents, husband George, son Don, great grandchildren Paige and Spencer Faris, sisters Mildred Ponto, Marie Davis, and brothers Howard and Cal Blue. She is survived by her daughter Belva and Earl Perkin, daughter-in-law Bonnie Downing, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the Rouleau United Church with Pastor Yvonne Terry officiating. Interment to follow at Rouleau Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rouleau United Church, Box 161, Rouleau, SK S0G 4H0. Arrangements entrusted to Dee Renwick, Funeral Director.
