Burnette Roberts

It is with great sadness that the family of Burnette (Betty) May Roberts age 84 of Amherst announce her passing on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in River Hebert, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Hanna (Kay) Roberts.
Betty worked on the domestic staff and in the kitchen at the Fort Cumberland Hotel and Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst for many years.
She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legions Br. # 10, Amherst.
Betty enjoyed knitting, caring for her plants and flowers, fishing, crafts, listening to her blue grass music and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Susan (Joe) Parsons of Hammonds Plains, NS, sister Myrtle Brown (Winston Brownell) of Amherst, brothers Conrad “Connie” (Stella) Roberts of Joggins and Melvin (Debbie) Roberts of Brampton, ON, step daughter Shirley (Douglas) Read and step son Donald (Freda) Estabrooks both of Amherst several grand and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her partner Hedley Estabrooks, son Clifford Roberts, sisters Marie Murray and Esther Guenette, brothers Eldon and Ronald Roberts, step daughter Ruth and step sons Raymond, Delbert and Wayne.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the Fenwick Cemetery with Rev. Donald Miller officiating.
Memorial donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
