BANNISTER, ETHEL
Surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 6, 2015, Mrs. Ethel Elizabeth Bannister (MacLaren) of Mazerolle Settlement, went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was the wife of Roy Bannister, they were married for 55 years. Born at St. Andrews, NB on June 15, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Frederick (Jeddy) and Sarah (Beckerton) MacLaren.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister, she is survived by one son; Brian Bannister of Geary, NB; five grandchildren Amanda, Matthew, Connor, Braeden, and Aaron; brother Fred (Ronah) MacLaren of Petitcodiac, NB; brother-in-law Eddie (Freda) Bannister of Moncton, NB; sister-in-law Thelma (Wayne) Bustin of Riverglade, NB; brother-in-law Robert Hall of Pennfield, NB; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a granddaughter Rebecca Marie Bannister, siblings Preston MacLaren and Helen Hall, brother-in-law George Bannister, and sisters-in-law Linda Bannister, Laura Davis, and Jennie Wade.
Ethel was a homemaker who loved her family and was active in her community (Mazerolle Settlement Recreation Centre), but most of all, she well known for her love of music and beautiful singing voice. She was a faithful member of Life Tabernacle Church where she was active in several ministries. Ethel always enjoyed summers working in her garden.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at Life Tabernacle Church, 1644 Hanwell Road, Fredericton and from where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 9 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Terry Messer officiating assisted by Rev. Joe Beesley. Interment will be Private.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
