MAY, GERALD ARTHUR
November 23, 1925 - June 7, 2015
Gerry passed away peacefully last Sunday in Victoria. He was the first born son of Arthur and Pertice May of McAdam, NB.
He graduated in medicine from Dalhousie University in 1950 and married the love of his life, Dorothy. His first practice was in Terrace, BC. For the next six years, he practiced in BC, Lockeport, Nova Scotia and spent three years in the Royal Canadian Navy serving on the aircraft carrier, “Magnificent”. He then moved the family to Victoria where he enjoyed general practice until 1989.
He and Dorothy loved to travel, visiting several continents and exploring foreign places. They also explored North America in their small motor home. Their condo on Mount Washington was also a popular place.
Mourning his passing are his son Patrick; daughter Debbie (Brock); daughter Jennifer (Ken); six grandchildren Harley, Eric, Kelly, Jessica, Sarah and Clara; three great-grandchildren Wyatt, Olivia and Hunter; his brother Dr. Jack May ( Donna) of Port Colborne, Ontario; sister Dorothy (Paul) Crowe of St. Bruno, Quebec; many nieces and nephews and friends.
There will be a private interment at Royal Oak Burial Park.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Parkinson’s Society or any other charity of your choice.
