Rebecca Card

CARD, REBECCA DELORES
It is with sadness that the family of Rebecca Delores Card announces her death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Wednesday, June 10th, 2015 at the age of 75. Born in Summerville, NS, on February 15th, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Anita (Lake) Card.
Becky leaves behind her children, Cynthia Boyd (Brian), Dolores Nielsen (Paul), Pamela Bird (Nick), Connie Cross (Dyrald) and Bradley Crossley (Andrea); siblings, Pauline Sanford, Erma Kelly (Charles) and Bob Card (Linda); grandchildren, Amanda, Nik, Jessica, Krysta, Spencer, Ashley, Brandon, Meghan, Hayden, Blaire, Leah, Mallory and Pierce; great-grandchildren, Cohen, Olivia and Grayce; special niece, Kim, and many other nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Douglas and Anita, Becky was predeceased by sister, Lil Benedict, and her brothers-in-law, Ron Benedict and Glen Sanford.
Becky was the center of our family. She cherished her children and their partners, and the special bonds with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her trees and gardens, and all of nature's creatures that enjoyed them with her. Her passion was sewing, and through it creating special things for those she loved. Even in her final days, Becky wanted her sewing machine in her room at palliative care. Becky has been reunited with her mother and father now, and will forever remain in our hearts.
Becky was grateful for the wonderful care provided her by the staff of Extra Mural and the staff and volunteers at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Palliative Care Unit. She was especially grateful for the care and support provided her by her daughter-in-law, Andrea, who enabled her to remain in her home for so long before transitioning to hospital. Their kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
There will be no visitation by request. A private family interment in Loyal Hill Cemetery, NS, will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Becky's memory made to the NB Lung Association or the Fredericton Community Kitchen would be appreciated by the family.
