John Jobe
John “Swain” Jobe, passed away at home on June 10, 2015.
Born in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow in 1969 he was the son of Robert and Joyce Jobe of Truro ,N.S.
At the time of his death, he worked at DSTN DSME in Trenton.
Swain loved to play the guitar and sing with his buddies. In his earlier years, he was a talented amateur boxer. He was on the Nova Scotia boxing team for a number of years. In 1985 he won silver at the Gaelic Games in Scotland.
Swain is survived by his father and mother, Robert and Joyce Jobe, his common law wife Bonita Rector, a daughter Caitlin, stepson Michael Slowik, a brother Jason, and nieces Brianna Jobe and Kyla Jobe.
He was predeceased by paternal grandparents Robert and Annie Jobe and maternal grandparents John and Marjorie Kontuk.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held on Monday June 15, 2015 from 6- 9pm at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, 256 King Street, New Glasgow.
Family flowers only. Donations in Swain's memory may be made toward his daughter's college fund.
