WALKER, MARGERY NORIEN
We the family regret to announce the passing of Margery Norien Walker, on June 11, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in Lynn, Massachusetts she was the daughter of the late Price and Beatrice Palmer.

Margery was a broadcasting pioneer, as oone of the first female announcers in North America. She started her career in Boston, in 1951, before moving to CFBC, in Saint John‎. After a 20 year break to raise her family, she resumed her career wiith CBC Radio and television in Fredericton, Halifax, and Sydney, where she retired in 1980.

Margery is survived by her son Randy (Sharon) McKeen, Fredericton, NB, and sister Virginia (Dick) Miller, Sarasota, FL. ‎She is also survived by her special friends, Sandra Clarke, Florence MacDonald, Diane Murray, and Cecile Cullen.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her daughters Jennifer Lynn McKeen, and Laurie Annn McKeen. Also sister Sharon Sullivan.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and interment will be held at a later date in Parrsboro, N.S.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ritter, and the wonderful nurse's of the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
