It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bertha Hawkins announce her passing on Friday, June 12, 2015 at the A.M Guy Memorial Health Centre in Buchans at the age of 85 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Kevin (Bea), Kitchener, ON, Jerry, Winnipeg, MB, Dianne (Bob) Kean, Halifax, NS, Harvey (Sylvia), Corner Brook and Pauline (David) Richards, Halifax, NS; daughter-in-law Christine, Clarenville; grandchildren: Nicole (Craig), Cindy, Kim (Geoff), Leon, Terry-Lynn (Boyce), Lesley-Ann, Robert (Tatianna), Christopher (Laurie), Paul, Michelle, Michael and Katie; great grandchildren: Nicholas, Kimberlynn, Chase, Mya, Cassidy, Datsun, Jenelle, Owen, Trey, Sam, Rebecca, Mathew and William; sisters: Nancy Jackson, Florence Plowman (Abijah), Joyce O'Keefe (Donald), Jean Mercer (Guy); brothers: Art (Olive) Patey and Colin (Judith) Patey; brothers-in-law: Milton (Fern) Hawkins and Sam (Christine) Hawkins, sister-in-law: Naomi Patey; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. She was predeceased by her husband George, 2003 and Son David, 2012, brothers Freeman, Leonard and Theo, and sister Stella Ayres. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 15th at 10:00 A.M. from Fillatre's, Chapel, St. Marks Avenue, Reverend Rosemarie Payne officiating, with cremation to follow and burial at a later date.
