The death occurred peacefully with family by his side, at the Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home, Charlottetown, on Friday, June 12, 2015, of Jim Fleming, beloved husband of Vernita (nee MacIntyre), formerly of Cornwall, aged 79.
Jim was the father of Terry (Nancy), John (Elaine) and Jason (Mark Knudson); and grandfather of Alyssa and Emma Fleming. He is also survived by his sisters, Virginia Curran and Kaye Johnston; brothers-in-law, Buddy MacIntyre (Jane) and Eddie Lund.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Dr. James E. and Alma Mary (Palmer) Fleming; his brothers, Paul and Richard Fleming; and his sister, Margaret Fleming; sisters-in-law, Teresa MacDonald, Evelyn MacDonald, Winnie Murphy, Kay McNichols and Joan Lund; and brothers-in-law, Cy, Reggie, Abbie and Clarence MacIntyre.
Resting at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Cornwall, for visitation on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 10 a.m. Due to severe allergies please refrain from wearing scented products.
Interment in St. Martin of Tours and St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Cumberland.
