It is with great sadness the family of Mark. R.Lewis, husband of Mary Elizabeth (Beth) (Quigg) Lewis, announce his sudden passing on Sunday June 14, 2015, at the age of 59.Mark was born April 20, 1956 in England, a son of the late Thomas Edward and Margaret (Peggy) (Heal) Lewis.
Mark was a Chief Engineer with Irving, Bay Ferries, and Marine Atlantic for over 30 years. He was very dedicated and a well-respected Engineer. Mark lived his life enjoying his family and spending time with his children especially watching them play hockey, baseball, golf, and ski. Growing up Mark was an excellent rugby player and enjoyed camaraderie with his mates. He also loved to cook and entertain for his family and friends. Mark’s charm, sense of humor and generosity were loved by all his friends and family. The Lewis family billeted children for the Sea Dogs hockey team, and they immediately were taken under his wing and treated as sons.
He is survived by his wife Mary Elizabeth (Beth) (Quigg) Lewis, sons, Kyle R. Lewis, of Edmonton Alberta, Gareth E. Lewis, of Saint John, two brothers, Adrian Lewis, and Philip Lewis, both of England, mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary and John Quigg, sister-in-law Colleen Quigg, brothers-in-law Brian (Wendy), Kevin (Sandra), Gary (Tracy) and many nieces and nephews. His Sea Dog sons, Vincent Lambert (Ariane), of Montreal, Pascal Amyot (Chantal), of Halifax, N.S., and Zack Phillips, of Fredericton, and three Sea Dogs grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB (634-1701). Following cremation, a visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
