McCULLUM, R. DOUGLAS
Cole Harbour- It is with great sadness that the family of R. Douglas McCullum announces his death on June 20, 2015. Doug was born in Saint John, N. B. the son of Roy and Bertha (Hayes) McCullum on August 29, 1942.
He is survived by his wife Judy (Lynch) McCullum, son Jonathan and his wife Guylaine (Jean), and many loving nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by sisters Lucille Roxborough, Elizabeth Chambers, Sandra Perrault and cousin, Dorothy Lawson who was like a sister to him.
In business, Doug was best known as owner and president of Canavan’s Insurance Appraisal (1972) Ltd. Doug had a great zest for life and lived it with dignity, humor and generosity. He enjoyed his family and extended family, especially the children, he loved teaching them poems and limericks. Doug was proud of his family history and his Irish roots. Doug will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in Dartmouth Funeral Home, 29 Queen Street. Memorial service and reception will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015 in lower hall of Christ Church, 61 Dundas Street, Dartmouth. Rev. James Haughn, officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, Hope Cottage or a charity of choice.
