Donald Bell

BELL, DONALD EDWIN
The passing of Donald Edwin Bell of Durham Bridge, NB, husband of the late Joan (Mayne) Bell occurred on Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Quebec on July 20, 1930, he was the son of the late Arthur and Isabell Baddeley Bell.

Donald is survived by his three sons, Rodney Bell (Joanne Sembinelli) of Fredericton, NB, Shawn Bell (Ivana Belloni) of Montreal, QC and Jay Bell (Tracy Graivier-Bell) of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Morgan, Taylor, Connor, Lee, Pierce, and Zoe; sister, Heather Alexander of Stephenville, NL; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Ben Alexander.

Don was a forestry engineer from UNB and one of the original Red Bombers. He met and married our mother Joan here in Fredericton in 1953 and came back to retire in 1990. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, son who believed in family, honesty, loyalty, commitment, hard work and character. He was a man who exemplified the word integrity by his actions. He had a passion for being outdoors and happiest when surrounded by nature, family and friends.

His three sons are thankful for having been blessed with a father who provided such a wonderful example. We are thankful he is now at peace and reunited with our mother, the woman he loved and adored with undying passion.

We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Everett Chalmers Hospital whose professionalism, care and compassion was exemplary, and without which we would have been lost and will be forever grateful.

There will be no visitation by request. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Kevin Stockall officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Anglican Church Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Miramichi Salmon Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
