It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Bud Campbell on Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Taigh Na Mara Nursing Home, Glace Bay.
Born in Main-a-Dieu, he was the son of the late Elias and Loretta (Lahey) Campbell.
He served overseas and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the military after 24 years of service.
Bud enjoyed playing the accordian and the spoons. He loved to tell a good joke. Thomas had a kind heart and he enjoyed helping people.
Bud is survived by his children, Donna (Gary) Kennedy, Brenda (Glen) Kennedy, Wayne (Lori) Campbell, 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Catherine, Henora, Lucy, Liz, Delores, Loretta, Naisha, Tish, Elias and Angus, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Martha (LeMoine); son, Wallace; siblings Mary, Pricilla, Eileen, Wish, Philimia, Victor and two great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wawrzyszyn, special thanks to the great staff, nurses and Dr. James MacLean at Taigh Na Mara for their great care and compassion given to dad for the past year. He thought the world of you all.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Church, Main-a-Dieu from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral mass will take place 11 a.m. Friday, July 3 2015 at Immaculate Conception Church, Main-a-Dieu with Fr. Raj. officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
